Hiking Lake Charles in Eagle, CO
We had a walk on August 7, within Eagle, Colorado, just on the Lake Charles trail. Anyone who is interested in hiking within Eagle Colorado will find the views to be among the most beautiful in the U.S. It is a stunning view to hikers from all levels and experiences. One of the simplest trails within Eagle is the 11-mile lengthy Lake Charles trail. It isn’t advisable to hurry it as it is relatively easy and shouldn’t be done in a hurry.
The path through the narrow valley has a steep slope up, but it’s not overly demanding. No matter the age of your children the trail is suitable for them. However, I would recommend that for youngsters who are younger than 5 or six an age, it is possible that you may require a carry at times.
This is an excellent route for grandparents who might not be as physically fit. There aren’t any high climbs and the undulation is not too bad, however it’s an excellent exercise. We had a great time with our grandsons.

Because the road is located in the valley which means you don’t have many opportunities to see breathtaking views until you get to lake Charles. Lake Charles end, but what you lose in scenic views you will make up for with the sounds, sights and smells. Make sure your eyes and ears are alert, since there’s an abundance of wildlife. Like you would expect at altitudes of 7,000ft or more, at the lake’s end of the trail you’ll encounter more alpine scenery and plenty of pine trees.
Anglers and Camp Grounds
The fishing on Lake Charles is especially excellent along the trail. The lake on Mystic Island also has fishing which is why we made the time to go there, too. You can camp on the trail and also at the top of the trail if you’re equipped with the proper equipment. Eagle is a paradise for campers but there is an overwhelming variety of choices that are available. If you’re looking to make the most of all the amenities available you might need to consider an extended stay.
Birds and Animals
It was a shame that we didn’t spot bears on either of our hikes, though it is true that the young bears can make quite a bit of noise, which means they are more likely to be observed. There was a great deal of eyes all over the place and they were extremely interested. Being able to see foxes for the first encounter in nature was an thrilling experience for children.
I would suggest keeping your camera on hand so you are able to capture this chance. If you don’t have your camera in the bag and wildlife is too swift you will miss the chance.
